Anthony Smith Wins PSAC East Honor Again

BLOOMSBURG-Bloomsburg University linebacker Anthony Smith (Pottstown/Pottstown) has been named the PSAC Eastern Division Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against CW Post..

Smith earns his third PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week award in five weeks this year after another standout performance in helping Bloomsburg top C.W. Post, 28-14. Smith made a career-high 19 tackles, including seven solo, and 1.5 tackles for loss, which included a sack. He also forced a fumble. The 19 tackles were just four shy of the school record and they are the most recorded by a PSAC player since 2007. Of his 19 stops, 11 came in the second half.

For the season Smith leads the Huskies in tackles with 56, 23 of them solo. He also has seven tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions.

Bloomsburg hosts Millersville on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Redman Stadium.
