Vote for Bloomsburg University's Danny Hale for Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year
BLOOMSBURG-Bloomsburg University football fans are encouraged to vote online for head coach Danny Hale for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award in Division II football.
Each year, four coaches - one each in Division I FBS and FCS, Division II and Division III - are awarded with $50,000 for charity and $20,000 for their alumni associations. Bloomsburg University encourages you to go to coachoftheyear.com to vote daily.
At Bloomsburg, Hale has posted a career record of 140-46-1 (.751) and holds the school record for most coaching victories. Overall in 21 years as a head coach he has a mark of 180-59-1 (.752) and is ranked among the top 10 active coaches in NCAA Division II in winning percentage.
In his 16 seasons as head coach at Bloomsburg he has led the Huskies to 10 outright or shared Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division titles and six NCAA post-season playoff berths. In the period from 2000 to 2008 the Huskies are also one of the most successful NCAA Division II programs with a combined record of 88-22 (.800).
The Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award combines the votes of fans, College Football Hall of Fame members and national media members to honor coaches who best demonstrate sportsmanship, respect, integrity and excellence. Voting is open to fans through December 6 with the top 15 coaches in each division moving forward.
