Bloomsburg Football Continues Rise in National Polls
BLOOMSBURG -- The Bloomsburg University football team moved up to third place in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and D2football.com top 25 polls this week after a 28-6 victory over Cheyney on Saturday.
The Bloomsburg defense continued its dominance over opponents, giving up just 9.9 points per game, which ranks first in all of Division II. Bloomsburg is also 13th in the nation in total yards allowed (268.63). Senior defensive end Justin Presley (Philadelphia/George Washington) has seven sacks for the Huskies, who are 10th in the country in sacks (3.25). Senior linebacker Anthony Smith (Pottstown/Pottstown) is 24th in Division II in tackles with 10 per game.
The Huskies (8-0, 5-0) will host conference foe Shippensburg during Parents Weekend this Saturday at 2:35 p.m.
