Bloomsburg University 2009 Football Schedule Announced

BLOOMSBURG--The 2009 Bloomsburg University football schedule will feature six home contests for the Huskies, including a Thursday night kickoff to the season.

Bloomsburg, 11-2 last year, will open the season against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) member Ashland University on Thursday, August 27 at 6 p.m. A year ago, the Huskies rallied from 21 points down at halftime to post 49-42 win over the Eagles.

Following the Huskies game with Ashland, Bloomsburg will hit the road for three games before returning to Redman Stadium for a matchup with PSAC East-rival CW Post on Sept. 26. Bloomsburg will also have a home game with Millersville on Oct. 3; then will face Cheyney on Homecoming on Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m. before Shippensburg comes to town for a Parent's Day game on Oct. 24 at 2:30 p.m.. The Huskies will close out the home portion of its schedule on Nov. 7 hosting Gannon or the PSAC championship game, if the Huskies qualify.

Bloomsburg fans will get a sneak preview of the 2009 team at the Huskies annual Maroon and Gold spring game on Friday, April 17 at 6 p.m.
