Field Hockey Remains Second in National Poll
BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University field hockey remains second according to the latest 2002 STX/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll.
The Huskies most recent win came over number eight ranked East Stroudsburg University, 2-0 on Wednesday, September 18. With the win, Bloomsburg has now won 15 straight games dating back to last season.
Nikki Hartranft (Oley/Oley Valley) leads the Huskies in scoring with five goals while Shanna Fritz (Benton/Benton) has four goals. Sheila Zilinski (Barto/Boyerstown) and Marie Zorzie (Mountaintop/Crestwood) both lead the team with three assists apiece. Goalie Trish Leitzel (Richfield/Middleburg) has a GAA of .33 to go along with her 17 saves and three shutouts.
Bloomsburg will play at fifth ranked Indiana (Pa.) Wednesday, at 4 p.m.
