IUP Downs Bloomsburg in Field Hockey

BLOOMSBURG — Suzanne Cornelissen scored the lone goal of the game as IUP upset Bloomsburg in field hockey action Tuesday. After a scoreless first half, Cornelissens' game-winner came 4:07 into the second half on a centering pass from Kandice Pyles. The Huskies surged towards the end of the game with a flurry of shots, but Indian goalkeeper Jamie Parell denied Bloomsburg of any chance at tying the game.

In goal, Tracy Hudak (Sweet Valley/Lake-Lehman) kept the game close for the Huskies making 11 saves on 12 shots.

The win was only the fourth by IUP in 30 career meetings between the two teams.

Bloomsburg, 6-1, will travel to Millersville next Monday at 4:00 p.m.
