Bloomsburg Dominates Mansfield in Field Hockey

BLOOMSBURG —Kristi Ney (Dauphin/C.D. East) and Sharla Partlon (Langhorne/Lansdale Catholic) scored two goals each to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 9-1 win over Mansfield in PSAC field hockey action Wednesday.

The Huskies opened the scoring 12 minutes into the game when Jackie Loehwing (York/Dallastown) scored off an assist from Kelly Trevisan (Lancaster/Lancaster).

Partlon and Ney scored the next two Bloomsburg goals over a three minute stretch to put the Huskies up 3-0. Mansfield's Alissa Gallagher scored for the Mountaineer's in the first half. At the break, Bloomsburg lead 3-1.

The Huskies then proceeded to put the game out of reach in the second half. Partlon scored her second goal 41 minutes into the game. Ney scored her second goal two minutes later. Ney's second goal was assisted by Morgan Wolf (Oley/Oley Valley). The scoring barrage continued through the half, as Marie Zorzi (Mountaintop/Crestwood), Colleen Greenlee (Lansdale/Lansdale Catholic), Ashley Heckard (Millerstown/Greenwood), and Ronni Nace (Liverpool/Greenwood) each scored unassisted goals, giving the Huskies a 9-1 victory.

In goal, the Huskies' Tracey Hudak stopped three shots.

Bloomsburg, 8-1, will visit Kutztown on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
