Bloomsburg Blanks Mercyhurst in Field Hockey

BLOOMSBURG —The Bloomsburg University field hockey team recorded its third consecutive shutout Friday, beating Mercyhurst, 6-0.

Kristy Kropa scored led the Huskies with two goals for the game including the games first goal just under a minute into the game. Morgan Wolf scored the second Husky goal in the closing minutes of the first half.

Kristi Ney jump started the Huskies second half scoring spree scoring her lone goal of the game to give the Huskies a 3-0 lead. Marie Zorzi and Tara Bourke each contributed one goal giving the Huskies the 6-0 victory.

In goal for the Huskies, Tracey Hudak had five saves while earning her second solo shutout of the season.

Bloomsburg, 3-0, will host Assumption College, Sunday at 1 p.m.
