Bloomsburg Beats Millersville in Field Hockey

BLOOMSBURG —Kristy Kropa (Tunkahannock/Lackawanna Trail) scored the Huskies' lone goal as Bloomsburg University defeated Millersville in field hockey, 1-0. With the win, the Huskies move to 14-3 on the season, 9-3 in the PSAC.

In the first half, Kristi Ney (Dauphin/C.D. East) got an opportunity to put the Huskies on the scoreboard early, but the shot went right of the goal. Later in the half after four Bloomsburg corners, Alison Poff (Dallastown/Dallastown) made a pass from outside that Jackie Loehwing (York/Dallastown) redirected to hit Kropa to score the goal for the Huskies.

The second half, similar to the first, granted a flurry of opportunities for both teams to score, including five Bloomsburg corners. The Huskies outshot the Marauders, 22-6.

In goal for the Huskies, Tracey Hudak (Sweet Valley/Lake-Lehman) recorded four saves.

Bloomsburg will be back in action tomorrow when they play host to Cawtaba at 11:00 a.m.
