BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University field hockey team earned a bid to the 2004 NCAA Division II field hockey championships.
The Huskies will be the top seed from the South Region and will receive a first round bye into the final four. Also earning a bid from the South were IUP, the number two seed, and Shippensburg, the number three seed. Those two teams will play on Saturday at IUP for the right to go to the final four.
From the North, UMass-Lowell is the top seed and host of the final four for the second straight year. Also from the North, Bentley is the number two seed and will host number three seed Southern Connecticut on Saturday for a trip to the final four.
The final four will be played on Nov. 12th and 14th at times to be announced.
Bloomsburg has won back-to-back NCAA titles and has 11 NCAA crowns overall. The Huskies won last year's title with a 4-1 win over UMass-Lowell.
