Bloomsburg Field Hockey Honored For Academics

BLOOMSBURG-The 2005 Bloomsburg University Field Hockey team that finished as the NCAA Division II runner-up has been honored for its academic performance by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

Kristen Castano (Nanticoke/Nanticoke), Brinley Geiger (Kutztown/Northwestern Lehigh), Colleen Grenlee (Lansdale/Lansdale Catholic), Ashley Heckerd (Millerstown/Greenwood), Kelsie Kress (Littlestown/Littlestown), Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail), Kristi Ney (Dauphin/Central Dauphin East), Brittany Wilkins (Barto/Boyertown) and Morgan Wolf (Oley/Oley Valley) have all been named to the NFHCA Division II All-Academic Squad. Each had a fall semester grade point average (GPA) of over 3.30.

In addition to the individual honors, the team received a 2005 NFHCA Division II National Academic Team Award. The Huskies finished fifth overall in Division II with a 3.22 team GPA.
