BLOOMSBURG -- Bloomsburg University field hockey standout Maribeth Brozena (Larksville/Wyoming Valley West) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Field Hockey Player of the Week for her play last week.
Brozena, a midfielder/back, helped the Huskies stay undefeated by scoring two goals and adding an assist in a 2-0 week. She began the week with a goal in a 4-0 win over Slippery Rock. She then added a goal and assist in a 4-1 win over East Stroudsburg. Her goal against the Warriors generated some momentum for Bloomsburg, tying the score before the half as the Huskies trailed for the first time this season.
On the year Brozena has scored three goals and assisted on two others.
Bloomsburg, the three-time defending NCAA Division II champions, is 7-0, 3-0 in the PSAC, on the year and visits Shippensburg Wednesday at 4 p.m.
