Bloomsburg Field Hockey Ranks Second in the Nation
BLOOMSBURG— The Bloomsburg University field hockey team remained the second ranked team in the nation according to the 2005 STX/NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) Division II National Coaches Poll. The Huskies are only second to Shippensburg University who stayed at number one in the poll.
The Huskies went 1-1 this past week with victory over Shippensburg and a defeat at the hands of number 10 East Stroudsburg. Against Shippensburg, All-American Kristi Ney (Dauphin/Central Dauphin West) scored two goals to lead the way. The victory gave head coach Jan Hutchinson her 1,500 career victory combined between field hockey and softball.
Bloomsburg , 15-2, 10-2 in the PSAC, will be traveling to IUP and hosting Mansfield and Catawba this week.
