Vanartsdalen Named PSAC Player of the Week
BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University field hockey player Jamie Vanartsdalen (Philadelphia/Lower Moreland) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Field Hockey Player of the Week for her outstanding play this past week.
Vanartsdalen led the way in Bloomsburg's 3-0 week by recording three goals and one assist. Against Kutztown on October 4th, Vanartsdalen netted the game-winning goal with 3:04 left in regulation to lift the Huskies past conference rival Kutztown 3-2. In the team's next game against Slipper Rock on October 8th, Vanartsdalen scored two goals in Bloomsburg's 5-0 victory over the Rock. The following day against Bellarmine, Vanartsdalen provided the assist on an overtime game winner in a 1-0 victory.
On the year, Vanartsdalen has scored 12 goals and has recorded seven assists.
Bloomsburg, the three-time defending NCAA Division II champions, is 14-1 overall and 9-1 in the PSAC. The Huskies return to action on Wednesday when they host East Stroudsburg at 4:00 p.m..
