Bloomsburg Field Hockey Named Top Seed at NCAA Championships
BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University field hockey team will be the number one seed in the South region at the NCAA Championships to be held November 16-18 in Pensacola, Florida. Bloomsburg will have a bye in the first round and will await the winner of number two seed, Shippensburg and third-seeded Indiana (Pa). In the North region, Massachusetts Lowell earned the top seed, followed by Stonehill and Bentley. The winners of each region will play for the NCAA Championship.
Bloomsburg recently captured their 14th Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC title by beatingShippensburg, 1-0, last Saturday. The Huskies are a perfect 22-0 on the season and have been ranked number one in the countryin the STX/ NFHCA Coaches Poll for the entire season. They dominated the competition all year long, outscoring their opponents 96-21 and shooting their opponents 536-201.
