Bloomsburg Field Hockey Ranked First in NFHCA


BLOOMSBURG-The Bloomsburg University field hockey team is once again ranked first in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll for Tuesday September 16, 2008. The two-time defending NCAA Champions have kept the top spot all season.

The undefeated Huskies have won six straight games this season, four of them by shutout. They are averaging 8.19 goals per game while their opponents are averaging 0.36 goals per game.

The Huskies improved to 6-0 this past Saturday with an 8-0 victory over Millersville. Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntingdon Valley/Lower Moreland) led the team with three goals and two assists.

Bloomsburg will host Mercyhurst College Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. and Mansfield University on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
