Bloomsburg Downs Kutztown in Field Hockey
BLOOMSBURG--Breanne Tobin (Perkasie/Pennridge) scored twice to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 5-2 win over Kutztown University Saturday night. The win avenges the Huskies only loss of the year.
Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) got the Huskies on the board first with a goal just 4:17 into the game when she connected on a penalty stroke. Kutztown rallied with back to back goals over a five minute stretch to grab a 2-1 lead.
The Huskies, though, needed just 45 seconds to tie the game at 2-2 when Tobin scored her first goal of the game at the 23:11 mark, then took the lead for good less than two minutes later when Aime Sgarlat (Dallas/Lake-Lehman) scored.
The score stayed 3-2 in favor of the Huskies till the 62nd minute when Tobin scored her second goal with Amanda Riley (Tannersville/Pocono Mountain East) getting the assist. Riley closed out the scoring in the game scoring with 35 seconds to play to make the final 5-2.
Bloomsburg goes to 11-1, 5-1 in the PSAC East, while Kutztown falls to 7-5, 2-3 in the PSAC East.
