Huskies Post Shutout of Slippery Rock
SLIPPERY ROCK--Amanda Riley (Tannersville/Pocono Mountain East) scored twice and had one assist to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 6-0 win over Slippery Rock on Sunday afternoon.
Maggey Bloskey (Danville/Danville) put the Huskies on the board first with a goal 12 minutes in from a Riley assist. Bloomsburg made it 2-0 when Aime Sgarlat (Dallas/Lake-Lehman) scored off a Lindsey Danz (Rehoboth Beach, DE/Sussex Tech) assist with six minutes to go before halftime. Less than two minutes later Riley scored her first goal with Julia Rush (Quakertown/Quakertown) getting the assist to make it a 3-0 game at the break.
In the second half, Riley made it 4-0 with her second goal with Bloskey getting the assist. The Huskies closed out the scoring with goals from Kara Stahl (Mifflinburg/Mifflinburg) and Alexis Weber (Bear, DE/William Penn).
Bloomsburg, now 6-1, held a 22-3 edge in shots on goal over Slippery Rock, 1-3 on the season. The Huskies host IUP on Saturday at noon.
