March 22, 2002 Bloomsburg Lacrosse Falls to C.W. PostBROOKVILLE, NY-Trish Moran's five goals helped fourth-ranked C.W. Post (1-1), to a 14-9 victory over ninth-ranked Bloomsburg (2-2) on Thursday afternoon. The Huskies jumped out to a 4-1 advantage, the last score coming on Georgia Carinci's goal off a Julie Minogue assist with 19:43 to go in the first half. After the Pioneers scored twice, Sheila Zilinski notched her second goal of the game to make it 5-3. However, just eight seconds later, Moran scored her first goal of the game and was followed two minutes later by Shaden Ghattas' second goal of the game to knot the score at five with 9:11 remaining in the first stanza. Taryn Brody's goal with 5:12 to go before halftime gave Post the lead for good at 6-5 and Moran added another tally in the waning moments before intermission to boost the Pioneer lead to two goals. The Pioneers increased the lead to 9-5 in the second half before Bloomsburg fought back with scores by Georgia Carinci and Katie Maclean to make it 9-7. Two goals from Moran would then put the game out of reach for the Huskies. Carinci and MacLean finished with hat tricks for the Huskies, with Carinci adding a pair of assists. The Huskies will be in action again on March 29th for their home opener against Philadelphia University at 2 p.m.
