Post in the North Region national semi-final played at Chieftain Stadium. Stonehill will face top-ranked Longwood in Sunday's championship match, as the Lancers advanced with a 13-9 victory over fifth-ranked Bloomsburg in the South Region national semi-final also played at Chieftain Stadium. In the South Region national semi-final, Longwood (13-1) overcame a 6-2 first half deficit by scoring 11 of the final 14 goals of the match, as sophomore Emily Bikowski (Fairfax, Va.) scored six goals and added three assists to have a hand in nine of the Lancers' 13 goals on the afternoon. Junior Kristy Taylor (Lorton, Va.) added four goals and a pair of assists in the triumph for Longwood, which also received a goal and two assists from junior Tia Richardson (Ellicott City, Md.) and a goal and an assist from junior Carlee Ullerty (Charlottesville, Va.). Freshman Ali Shafer (Fairfax, Va.) netted the other Lancer goal of the contest, while sophomores Sophie Dress (Ellicott City, Md.) and Leah Graham (Salisbury, Md.) chipped in with single assists for the Lancers, who snapped a 6-6 halftime deadlock in holding a 7-3 scoring edge in the final 30 minutes of play. Junior Georgia Carinci (Springmount, Pa.) paced Bloomsburg (13-2) with four goals in the setback, while fellow junior Sheila Zilinski (Barto, Pa.) added a hat trick as well for the Huskies, who also received a pair of goals and two assists from sophomore Danielle Yeager (Delran, N.J.). The four points for Carinci tie her for the school's all-time lead in points with 183. Carinci is tied with Kelly Cutbert for the all-time scoring lead and her 75 points this season tie the school record for most points in a season. Junior Julie Minogue (Chalfont, Pa.) netted the other Bloomsburg goal of the match, while senior Megan Pry (Downington, Pa.) chipped in with a pair of assists for the Huskies, who, like C.W. Post, suffered both of their setbacks on the season to the same team, as Bloomsburg opened its schedule with a setback to Longwood. Junior Stacey Schmidt (Berlin, N.J.) picked up the win in goal for Longwood with an 18-save effort, while junior Linda Schultz (Doylestown, Pa.) made 11 stops in net for Bloomsburg as the Huskies outshot the Lancers by a 33-26 margin for the match. Freshman Erin Acone (Bow, N.H.) paced Stonehill (16-2) in its national semi-final victory by tying her career-high with six goals, as the Chieftains forged a pair of two goal leads in the first half only to see the Pioneers (11-2) come back to forge a 7-7 tie at the break. Stonehill took a two-goal lead once again at 10-8 8:36 into the second half on Acone's fourth marker of the day, but C.W. Post forged the final tie of the day at 10-10 with just over 15 minutes remaining. Acone then gave the Chieftains the lead for good with a pair of goals that came 1:50 apart, and after the Pioneers closed to with one on senior Taryn Brody's (Arvada, Colo.) fourth goal of the match with 5:39 remaining, Stonehill received a key insurance marker off the stick of sophomore Courtney Duggan (Billerica, Mass.) with 1:37 remaining, as Brody's goal with seven seconds to play closed out the scoring on the day. Senior Melissa Gross (Bow, N.H.) added a hat trick and a pair of assists to post a five-point afternoon for Stonehill, which also received a pair of goals off the stick of sophomore Colette Carpenter (Massapequa, N.Y.) and as well as a goal and an assist from sophomore Colby Confer (Madison, Conn.). Senior Katie Lundy (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and sophomore Ashley Gilroy (Shoreham, N.Y.) each notched a goal and an assist for the Pioneers, who received single markers off the sticks of senior Kristy O'Connor (Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore Kemola Webster (Elmont, N.Y.) as well as an assist from senior Tara Vokes (Auburn, Mass.).
