Huskies Down East Stroudsburg in Lacrosse

BLOOMSBURG—Georgia Carinci (Springmount/Perkiomen Valley) scored a game-high eight goals to lead Bloomsburg University to an easy 19-5 win over East Stroudsburg University in women's lacrosse action Saturday.

The Huskies jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game only to see the Warriors tie the score with back-to-back goals within a 30-second span. The Huskies then scored three straight times, with Carinci netting two of the goals, to lead 5-2 with 20 minutes to play in the first half. East Stroudsburg then scored to make it 5-3 with 16:19 to play in the period, the Huskies seven of the next eight goals to take a commanding 12-4 lead at the break.

In the second half, the Huskies scored the first six goals to put the game out of reach. Ashley Childs (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) scored the first two goals of the second half with Carinci scoring three consecutive times in a seven minute span.

Bloomsburg, 2-3, 2-1 in the PSAC, will host Mercyhurst Sunday at noon.
