Bloomsburg Beats Indiana (PA) in Lacrosse

INDIANA (PA) —The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team defeated Indiana (PA) on Monday, 18-9, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup.

The Huskies took a 9-3 lead in the second half and coasted to the easy win. Leading the way for the Huskies was senior Georgia Carinci (Springmount/Perkiomen Valley), who netted six goals, and now has 152 for her career. Carinci is just now five shy of breaking the school record for goals in a career held by Kelly Cuthbert (1986-89). In addition, Sheila Zilinski (Barto/Boyertown) scored five times, while Danielle Yeager (Delran, NJ/Delran) netted three with Meg Taylor (West Chester/West Chester), Brittany Wilkins (Barto/Boyertown) and Pam Cianni (Barto/Upper Perkiomen) one each.

Yeager added three assists, while Carinci chipped in with two assists.

Amy Hood led the Indians with four goals.

Bloomsburg, 5-3, 4-1 in the PSAC, will host West Chester on Thursday at 4 p.m.
