Huskies Drop Mercyhurst in Lacrosse
BLOOMSBURG— The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team improved its record to 3-3 after beating Mercyhurst College, 14-2, Saturday.
Leading the Huskies was Georgia Carinci (Springmount/Perkiomen Valley) who ended the game with seven goals after scoring four of the Huskies first five points. Sheila Zilinski (Barto/Boyertown) also sparked the Huskies offensively scoring four goals of her own. Danielle Yeager (Delran, NJ/Delran) scored the team's first goal, while Megan Heller (Horsham/Hatboro-Horsham) and Brandy McPherson (Pottstown/Pottstown) each chipped in with one goal. McPherson and Ashley Childs (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) each had two assists for the game.
Linda Shultz (Doylestown/Central Bucks West) earned the victory in goal for the Huskies allowing just one goal, while making six saves.
The Huskies will next be in action on Saturday as they host Millersville at 1 p.m.
