Bloomsburg Falls to Shippensburg in Lacrosse

BLOOMSBURG —The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team lost to Shippensburg on Thursday by a score of 13-7. The loss was the fourth straight for the Huskies.

The Lady Raiders scored the first five goals of the game with Laura Warrington getting two of the goals. The Huskies finally broke through when Danielle Yeager (Delran, NJ/Delran) scored with less than seven minutes left in the first half.

Leading 6-4 going into the second half, Shippensburg stretched the lead to 7-4 on a goal by Cristin Marron before the Huskies got back to within two at 7-5 on a goal by Georgia Carinci (Springmount/Perkiomen Valley). The Lady Raiders put the game away with four consecutive goals in a four-minute time span to go up 12-6. Page Heath scored three of the goals for Shippensburg.

Bloomsburg goes to 5-7, 4-5 in the PSAC with the loss, while Shippensburg improves to 7-3, 7-2 in the PSAC. Bloomsburg will play at East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
