Huskies Lose to West Chester in Lacrosse

BLOOMSBURG—Kathleen Sheehan's goal with 10 seconds left lifted the West Chester Golden Rams to a 11-10 win over Bloomsburg University in PSAC lacrosse action on Thursday.

Sheehan's goal rallied the visitors after Bloomsburg had come back to take a 10-9 lead in the game after being down 8-6 at halftime.

Bloomsburg started the scoring with a goal from Danielle Yeager 4:11 into the game off an assist from Georgia Carinci. West Chester took a 2-1 before the Huskies scored two straight, from Yeager and Sheila Zilinski, to go back on top 3-2. Later, with the Huskies holding a 5-3 lead, the Golden Rams scored five consecutive goals to grab an 8-5 lead before Bloomsburg got one back with a goal from Carinci with 1:03 left in the half.

Bloomsburg came out an got back to within one at 8-7 on a goal from Meg Taylor before West Chester went back up by two just 24 seconds later. The Huskies then got goals from Ashley Childs, Yeager and Carinci to go back on top 10-9 with 6:20 left in the game.

Sheehan, though, tied the game at 10-10 with a goal with 4:10 left in the game. Bloomsburg had a chance to go back in front with less than 30 seconds to play, but a shot in front of the goal was blocked by the West Chester goalie. That's when Sheehan took a pass and went down the field and scored to give the Golden Rams the victory.

Carinici led the Huskies with three goals and one assist, while Yeager also netted three goals. West Chester was led by four goals from Sheehan and three from Caitlin Pettit.

Bloomsburg is now 5-4, 4-2 in the PSAC, while West Chester goes to 9-1, 6-0 in the PSAC. The Huskies host Lock Haven on Saturday at 1 p.m.
