Bloomsburg Falls to Lock Haven in Lacrosse

LOCK HAVEN —The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team could not come back from an 8-3 halftime deficit and lost to Lock Haven on Wednesday by a 17-5 score.

Lock Haven scored the first three goals of the game before the Huskies rallied and tied the score with straight goals of its own. Megan Taylor (West Chester/West Chester) got Bloomsburg's first goal with Sheila Zilinski (Barto/Boyertown) getting back-to-back goals to knot the score at 3-3 with 15 minutes left in the half.

Lock Haven took the lead for good just 42 seconds later when Diana Strizki sored to make it 4-3. The Lady Eagles then finished the half with four more goals for an 8-3 advantage.

Lock Haven then scored the seven goals of the second half to put the game out of reach. The Huskies finally ended their scoring drought with back-to-back goals from Brittany Wilkins (Barto/Boyertown) and Dani Yeager (Delran, NJ/Delran) to make it 15-5. However, the Huskies could get no close with Lock Haven getting the game's final two goals.

The Huskies, 7-5, 6-3 in the PSAC, will host Shippensburg on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
