Bloomsburg Falls to West Chester in PSAC Lacrosse Title Game

WEST CHESTER—The Bloomsburg University lacrosse lost to West Chester 16-5 in the 2005 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship game on Saturday.

The Golden Rams rolled to a 10-3 first-half advantage and never were threatened after jumping out to the huge lead.

Bloomsburg drops to 12-6, while West Chester improved to 16-1 on the season.

The Huskies fell behind 4-0 in the first 10 minutes of the game before getting on the board with a goal from Karla Honeywell (Lansdale/North Penn). After a West Chester goal made it 5-1, Dani Yeager (Delran, NJ/Delran) scored for the Huskies to make it a 5-2 game with 18 minutes left to play in the first half.

West Chester then scored four straight and five of the next six to take a 10-3 lead. In the second half, the Golden Rams scored the first four goals of the half to open a 14-3 lead and were never threatened.

West Chester's Katelyn Martin was named the MVP of the title game after scoring three times and handing out a pair of assists.

Yeager scored twice for the Huskies with Honeywell, Shiela Zilinksi (Barto/Boyertown) and Meg Taylor (West Chester/West Chester) adding one each.
