Bloomsburg Downs Shippensburg in Lacrosse

SHIPPENSBURG —The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team defeated Shippensburg on Saturday by a 16-6 score.

The Huskies jumped out to a 7-3 halftime lead and then put the game out of reach by scoring six of the first seven goals of the second half to take a 13-4 lead with 13 minutes left to play.

Bloomsburg goalie Bridgett Maenner (Philadelphia/Catholic) made three saves for the Huskies, while Danielle Yeager (Delran, NJ/Delran) led the offense with four goals, while Sheila Zilinski (Barto/Boyertown) and Cali Toms (Pottstown/Pottsgrove) each had three.

The Huskies, now 4-3, 3-1 in the PSAC, visit East Stroudsburg on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
