Cali Toms Named Lacrosse Rookie of the Week

BLOOMSBURG— Bloomsburg University lacrosse player Cali Toms (Pottstown/Pottsgrove) was named the Rookie of the Week for Division II lacrosse by womenslacrosse.com. Toms receives the honors after helping the Huskies to a 2-1 record last week.

In their first game of the week, a 9-8 win over Millersville, Toms helped the Huskies come back from a 4-2 deficit with one goal in the first half and two goals in the second. The next game, the Huskies traveled to Indiana (PA) where they defeated the Indians, 18-6. Toms scored two goals and also recorded to assists in the win.

The Huskies fell in their next contest in a tight 11-9 game with West Chester. Toms scored once in the game.

On the season, Toms is third on the team with 25 goals and five assists. She has a shot percentage of .714. Toms is sixth in the conference in games scored per game, averaging 2.75 and eighth in points per game, averaging 3.25 in each contest.

Bloomsburg is 7-5 on the season, 6-3 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

The Huskies will host Shippensburg on Friday in a PSAC contest at 4:30 p.m.
