Alexander Leads Huskies to Win

MILLERSVILLE-- Sam Alexander (Willow Grove/Upper Moreland) scored four goals to lead the Bloomsburg University lacrosse team to a 12-11 win over Millersville University on Tuesday.

Bloomsburg led 3-2 through the first 10 minutes of the game with Alexander scoring twice. Millersville rallied and took a 4-3 lead before the Huskies came back with three consecutive goals to end the half and lead 6-4 at the break.

In the second half the Huskies scored six of the first nine goals to take a 12-7 lead with 8:47 to play. Kelsey Quigley (Lansdale/Methacton) scored two of Bloomsburg's six goals and added an assist on Angie Picciotti's (Chalfont/Central Bucks West) goal early in the second half.

Millersville then staged a comeback getting four goals in the final six minutes, the last with 19 seconds to play, but the Huskies were able to hang on for the win.

Bloomsburg, 2-2, will play at Slippery Rock on Thursday at 4 p.m.
