BU Downs Shippensburg in Lacrosse

SHIPPENSBURG-- Cali Toms (Pottstown/Pottsgrove) scored four goals to lead the Bloomsburg University lacrosse team to a 13-10 win over Shippensburg on Saturday. The win clinched third place in the PSAC for the upcoming playoffs.
Bloomsburg jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the game with Kylie Matthews (Gilbertsville/Boyertown) and Sam Alexander(Willow Grove/Upper Moreland) getting two goals each in the first 20 minutes of play.
Shippensburg rallied and cut the lead to 6-3 the break and would later tie the game at 6-6 after scoring the first three goals of the second half.
Bloomsburg came back and regained the lead when Toms scored back-to-back goals just 30 seconds apart for an 8-6 BU lead. Late in the game with the Huskies holding just a one-goal lead at 11-10 Bloomsburg would get goals from Toms and Kelsey Quigley (Lansdale/Methacton) in the final 30 seconds of action to seal the victory.
Along with Toms, Kim Springman (Downingtown/Bishop Shanahan) scored three times, while Alexander also picked up three goals for Bloomsburg, now 9-8, 9-5 in the PSAC.
The Huskies play at Lock Haven on Tuesday in a PSAC semi-final game at a time to be determined.
