Kakareka Named PSAC East Lacrosse Player of the Week

BLOOMSBURG-Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse player Allie Kakareka (Royersford/Spring-Ford) has been named the PSAC Eastern Division Player of the Week for the period ending March 21.

Kakareka helped lead the Huskies to a 2-0 week with wins over East Stroudsburg and Molloy by recording a total of six goals on just eight shots and adding two assists, four ground balls and two caused turnovers. In a 13-5 win over East Stroudsburg in the PSAC East opener last Wednesday, Kakareka scored four goals on just six shots and also scooped up three ground balls and caused two turnovers. In a 15-7 win over Molloy in non-conference action on Saturday, she scored two goals and dished out two assists and picked up one ground ball. For the season Kakareka has scored 12 goals and assisted on seven others for a team-high 19 points.

Bloomsburg, 5-1, will host West Chester on Thursday at 4 p.m.
