Bloomsburg Ends Season with Loss to Cheyney

BLOOMSBURG —Adam Bohman (Sussex, NJ/Vernon Twp) scored 20 points and 12 rebounds in his final game as a member of the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team, but the Huskies lost to Cheyney, 83-72, Wednesday night.

Except for a brief 2-2 tie early in the game, the Huskies (6-20, 2-10 PSAC East) trailed throughout the contest to the Wolves. After Cheyney (13-13, 4-7 PSAC East) opened a nine-point lead, 18-9, the Huskies rallied with an 8-0 run to close to deficit to one, 18-17, with 9:18 left in the first half. Cheyney then slowly built back its lead over the next nine minutes and led by 11, 40-29, at halftime.

In the second half, the Huskies cut the margin to 10, 44-34, with 17:36 left in the game on a dunk by Bohman. Cheyney, though, once again went on a 7-0 run and opened a 17-point lead, 51-37. Later, trailing by 16, 55-39, the Huskies went on a 9-2 run to get the margin back under 10 points, 57-48, with 8:12 to play.

But, over the next six minutes, the Wolves went on a 14-3 run and led by 20 points, 71-51, with 2:43 left in the game. Bloomsburg came back one last time with a rally. Six points from Ryan Luckman (York/York Catholic) and five points Tom Barlow (Dresher/Upper Dublin) led a 14-1 run that got the deficit down to eight points, 73-65, with 1:08 to play. That would be the closest the Bloomsburg would get the rest of the way as the Wolves hit four of four free throws and got two layups in the final minute to win by11.

Along with Bohman's 20 points, Bloomsburg got 13 each from Luckman and Barlow. Luckman also added nine assists. Ryan Hewitt (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee HS) came off the bench to score 10 points for the Huskies.

Cheyney, was led by Anthony Frazier with 16 points, while Bruce Hall added 15 points.
