Huskies Falls to Millersville in Men's BasketballBLOOMSBURG—Daron Pressley scored a game-high 20 points to lead Millersville University to a 90-67 win over Bloomsburg University in men's basketball action Wednesday night. With Bloomsburg (6-15, 2-6 PSAC) trailing by 10 points at halftime, 46-36, the Huskies put together a 9-3 run to open the half and get within four points at 49-45 with 16:43 to play in the game on a three-pointer by Bob Nenstiel (Nuremberg/Weatherly). Millersville (17-5, 7-1 PSAC), shortly afterwards, then saw its leading scorer Gerald Redding go to the bench with his fourth foul giving Bloomsburg some life. However, the Marauders responded to the challenge and went on a 30-9 run over the next nine minutes to lead by 25, 79-54, with 7:18 to play in the game. Pressley had three, three-pointers, while Kharie McKie added seven points to help Millersville put the game away. In the first half, the teams played a close game with Millersville grabbing an 11-point lead, 29-18, with 12:39 to play on a jumper by Toochi Udeinya. The Huskies, though, fought back and pulled to within five points, 39-34, with 5:07 to play on a three-pointer by Todd Schweitzer (McKees Rock/Montour). But Millersville went on a 7-2 to close out the half and lead by 10 at the break. The Huskies were led by 16 points from Tom Barlow (Dresher/Upper Dublin) and 13 points from Adam Bohman (Sussex, NJ/Vernon Twp.). Along with Pressley's 20 points, Millersville got 18 from Michad Davenport and Khari McKie with Redding adding 13. Bloomsburg will host East Stroudsburg Saturday night at 8 p.m. |
