Bloomsburg Falls to Pitt-Johnstown in Men's Basketball

JOHNSTOWN —Steve Scorpion scored a game-high 19 points to lead five players in double figure as Pitt-Johnstown beat Bloomsburg University 82-58 in men's basketball action Saturday night.
The Huskies hit the first bucket of the game, a three-pointer by Ryan Nenstiel (Nuremburg/Weatherly), before the Mountain Cats rattled off the next 21 to take an 18-point lead with 11:33 left in the first half. Bloomsburg, which was held scoreless for nearly nine minutes, broke the run with another Ryan Nenstiel at the 10:32 mark.
In the second half, the Mountain Cats extended their lead to as many as 34 points (60-26) before the Huskies cut the deficit back to 22 with 3:26 to play on a jumper by Buddy Rose (Philadelphia/Mastbaum).
Along with Scorpion's 19 points, Pitt-Johsntown (5-5) got 14 from Carlos Cogsdell with Dwight Hines and James Booker getting 13 each.
Bloomsburg was led by Buddy Rose with 14 points, while John Owens (Philadelphia/Abington Friends) added 13 points.
The Huskies, now 2-7, will be back in action Dec. 20th hosting Edinboro at 7:30 p.m.
