Bloomsburg Falls to Edinboro in Men's Basketball

EDINBORO - Bloomsburg University got a game-high 26 points from Matt Jefferson (Philadelphia/Engineering and Science), but it wasn't enough as the Huskies lost to Edinboro, 81-73, in men's basketball action Tuesday night.

Edinboro came out fast and grabbed a 15-6 lead six minutes into the game with Daren Tielsch netting six points. The Fightin Scots then pushed the lead to 18 points, 48-30, at the break and later extended its lead to 25 points, 66-41, with 14 minutes to play. Bloomsburg finished the game strong outscoring the home team 14-4 over the final four minutes of play.

Jefferson connected on 12 of 24 shots from the floor, including one of two from three-point range, and added seven rebounds to lead Bloomsburg (2-8). Mike Cheatle (North Wales/Hatboro-Horsham) added 13 points and Marion Rose (Philadelphia/Mastbaum) 11 for the Huskies.

Edinboro (6-3) got 24 points from Tielsch and 13 from Devon Knight.

Bloomsburg will play at Slippery Rock on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
