Bloomsburg's Jefferson Named PSAC Co-Player of the Week

BLOOMSBURG-Bloomsburg University men's basketball Matt Jefferson (Philadelphia/George Washington) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 25th.

In three games last week, Jefferson averaged averaged 32.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game while shooting 62.5% (40-64) from the field. Against West Chester he scored 34 points, and added nine rebounds and three blocks. He ended the season by scoring 30 or more points in his last four games.

For the year, Jefferson averaged a team-high 19.1, sixth-best in the PSAC, and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. He also blocked 40 shots and shot 48.8 percent from the floor. His season total of 516 points was the most for a Bloomsburg player since the 1998-99 season, while his 40 blocked shots were the most since the 1995-96 season.

Jefferson shared the PSAC East Player of the Week award with Bruce Hall of Kutztown.
