Bloomsburg Men's Basketball Falls to Shippensburg

BLOOMSBURG - The Bloomsburg men's basketball team fell to Shippensburg 83-43 in a PSAC cross-over game on Sunday afternoon.

Shippensburg took command of the game early grabbing a 26-9 lead with 9:13 remaining in the first half. The Huskies were able to cut the lead to 12 when Marion Rose (Philadelphia/ Mastbaum) connected on a three-pointer with 5:03 remaining in the first half to make the score 30-18. Shippensburg then responded with a 13-2 run to close out the half, giving them a 43-20 edge at halftime.

Chuck Davis scored a game high 17 points for the Red Raiders while Jamal Williams scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Bloomsburg was led by Billy Bryan (Denver/ Holy Name) who scored 11 points and hauled in five rebounds. Ernest Cherry (Babonneau/ St. Lucia) scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds.

The Huskies fall to 3-10 on the year, while Shippensburg improves to 10-3. The Huskies will begin their PSAC East schedule on Wednesday when they travel to East Stroudsburg at 8 p.m.

The Huskies open the regular season at home against Pitt-Johnstown on Wednesday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Nelson Field House.
