Bloomsburg Falls to Edinboro in Men's Basketball

BLOOMSBURG - The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team fell to Edinboro University, 73-63, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover game on Sunday.
Edinboro took an early five point lead (11-6) just over four minutes into the game on a three-pointer from Joseph Jones. Two minutes later, Jaren Burdine (Reading/Reading) converted both of his free throws to bring the Huskies to within one-point at 11-10. However, seven straight points from the Fightin' Scots brought their lead back up to eight points at 18-10 with 13 minutes to play in the half.
Bloomsburg again battled back to within one point when Buddy Rose (Philadelphia/Mastbaum Tech) scored off a steal to make it 25-24. Later in the half, Billy Bryan (Denver/Holy Name) nailed a three-pointer to give the Huskies their first lead of the game at 27-25 with just over four minutes to play. Edinboro took the lead once again on a jumper from Jones and closed out the half with a 38-33 lead.
In the second half, Edinboro took a 15-point lead, 52-37, but the Huskies cut the lead to nine when Bryan converted on a three-point play to put the score at 54-45 with 10 minutes to play. Edinboro controlled the remaining minutes taking an 18-point lead with 6:20 on the clock. A jumper from Rose with 27 seconds to play cut the lead to 10 where it would stay with the final score 73-63 in favor of Edinboro.
Matt Jefferson (Philadelphia/George Washingto) led the Huskies (7-6) with 22 points and 16 rebounds while Burdine finished with 16 and Rose added 10 points.
Edinboro's Joseph led all scorers with 32 points, including hitting six of eight from beyond the three-point line. Devon Knight finished with a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) while Curtis Ingram rounded out the Scots' attack with 12 points.
The Huskies are back in action at Millersville on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
