Bloomsburg Falls to Kutztown in Overtime

KUTZTOWN- The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team fell to Kutztown 73-70 in overtime on Saturday afternoon. With 35 seconds remaining in overtime and the Huskies leading 70-69, Kutztown's Sean McKeon scored on a lay-up and converted the three-point play after he drew a foul on the play to give Kutztown the lead and the victory.

The Huskies held a 61-58 advantage with just 27 seconds remaining regulation but the Golden Bear's Ben Dave hit a three-pointer to send the game into overtime.

Earlier in the half Kutztown held a 53-42 advantage with 6:57 remaining and looked to be in control of the game. However the Huskies would go on a 19-5 run before Dave's shot tied the game. Jaren Burdine (Reading/ Reading) had eight points during the run.

Burdine scored a team-high 19 points to lead the Huskies, while Billy Bryan (Denver/ Holy Name) scored 14 points and Matt Jefferson (Philadelphia/ George Washington) added 12. Dave scored a game-high 30 points to lead Kutztown.

The Huskies fall to 7-8, 0-3 in the PSAC East, while Kutztown improves to 12-5, 1-2 in the PSAC East. Bloomsburg will visit Penn-State Hazleton on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
