(7-5) came back and took the lead for good in the game when Matt Jefferson (Philadelphia/George Washington) scored on a layup with 16:08 left in the half to make it 8-6. Another layup from Jefferson and five points from Billy Bryan (Denver, PA/Holy Name) extended the lead to 15-6 with 13:3 left in half. Later a Brian Holsey (Philadelphia/J.R. Masterman) basket gave the Huskies a 12-point lead at 24-12 before the Rock rallied with a 7-0 run to close the gap to five at 24-19. Bloomsburg went to the locker room leading by seven at halftime, 31-24.

The Huskies threatened to put the game away in the first eight minutes of the second half. Following a Niko Tryakov (Bulgaria) three-pointer with 11:46 to play, the Huskies led 44-29. Bloomsburg held a double-digit lead as late as 6:45 to play at 49-37 after a Jefferson steal and layup.

But, Slippery Rock took advantage of some missed free throw opportunities to get back in the game then got a three-pointer from Erroll Robinson with 2:14 to play to make it a 57-55 game. A bucket by Drew Jerry (Philadelphia/Olney) made it 59-55 with 1:51 to play, then Robinson hit one of two free throws for the Rock for a 59-56 Bloomsburg lead. Buddy Rose's (Philadelphia/Mastbaum Tech) layup off an assist from Traykov put the Huskies in front 61-56 with 58 seconds to play. But a Robinson jumper and two free throws from Kenny Smith sandwiched around a couple of missed free throws by Bloomsburg made it 61-60 with 30 seconds to play. After Jerry was fouled, he hit one of two for a two-point lead, 62-60. Slippery Rock's try to tie the game ended in a miss with Jerry getting fouled with five seconds to play. But, two misses by the junior gave the Rock one more chance with two seconds to play. On a lob play to the basket, the ball was tipped by the Huskies and the clock ran out giving Bloomsburg the win.
