Bloomsburg Men's Basketball Downs Seton Hill

MILLERSVILLE- Billy Bryan (Denver/Holy Name) scored 16 points to lead the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team to a 64-54 win over Seton Hill in the Millersville Classic on Friday night. The win moves the Huskies to 2-0 under new head coach, John Sanow.

Bloomsburg took an early 8-0 lead after Buddy Rose (Philadelphia/Mastbaum Tech) hit back to back lay-ups with 17 minutes to play. The Huskies continued to out shoot Seton Hill and took their largest lead with three minutes remaining in the first half when a dunk by Bryan put the Huskies up by 22 points at 38-16.

Seton Hill put together a 6-0 run at the end of the half and cut the lead to 38 to 22.

The Griffins struck first in the second half rattling off 16 straight points to tie the lead at 38 apiece. However, the Huskies battled back and built up a 10 point lead on a three-point play from Ernest Cherry (Babonneau, St. Lucia/St. Mary's) at the 11 minute mark.

With four minutes to play in the game, Seton Hill cut the Bloomsburg lead to 57-52, but the Huskies converted five of eight free throws in the remaining minutes to seal the 64-54 win.

For the Griffins, Meteja Dicic recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Thomas added 11 points and Marcus Thompson rounded out the scoring with 10.

As a team, Bloomsburg (2-0) shot 47% from the floor. Bryan led all scorers with 16 points and nine rebounds while Matt Jefferson (Philadelphia/George Washington) chipped in 12 points and seven boards. Cherry finished the day with nine points.

The Huskies will be back in action in the Millersville Classic tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. when they take on Wilmington College.
