Jones Leads Bloomsburg Men's Basketball Team to Win

ELKINS, WV--Nick Jones (Rosedale, NY/Hillcrest) scored a game-high 23 points to power the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team to a 79-54 win over Davis and Elkins College on Saturday.

With Davis and Elkins holding its only lead of the game at 5-4 with 16:16 to play, the Huskies went on a 30-11 run over the next 12 minutes to open up a 34-16 lead with four minutes to play. Drew Jerry (Philadelphia/Olney) got the Huskies rally going with a three-pointer, then Jones banged home three consecutive treys to put Bloomsburg in front 18-10. Adon El (Philadelphia/St. John Neumann) would close out the rally with a layup at the 4:04 mark of the first half.

In the second half, the Huskies scored the first nine points of the period to take a 54-26 lead and were never threatened afterwards.

Jones scored his 23 points on nine of 11 shooting, including 3-3 from three point range. Along with Jones, Jerry and John Allen (Hatfield/North Penn) each added 10 points for the Huskies, now 5-3 on the season. Jackson led Davis and Elkins with 17 points.

Bloomsburg is idle till December 18th when it hosts Shippensburg at 7:30 p.m.
