Bloomsburg Falls to East Stroudsburg in Men's Basketball

EAST STROUDSBURG--The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team lost to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday by a score of 72-46.

The Warriors jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the game before the Huskies got on the board with a John Allen (Hatfield/North Penn) free throw with 15:01 left to play in the opening half. East Stroudsburg pushed the lead to as many as 22 points leading by a score of 34-12 with 4:13 to play in the first half. Bloomsburg ended the half with an 8-0 run to trail by just 14 points, 34-20, at the break.

East Stroudsburg opened the second half with a 12-3 run to go in front 46-23 with 14:12 to go in the game. Bloomsburg narrowed the gap with a mini 7-1 run making it 47-30 after a three-point play from Niko Traykov (Bulgaria) with 10:24 to play. The Huskies, though, would get no closer the rest of the way.

Bloomsburg was led by Buddy Rose (Philadelphia/Mastbaum Tech) with 11 points, while Channon Easley scored 20 points and had 13 rebounds for the Warriors, now 13-3, 2-0 in the PSAC East.

The Huskies, now 8-9, 0-3 in the PSAC East, will host Kutztown on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Nelson Field House.
