Bloomsburg Falls to Millersville in Men's Basketball

MILLERSVILLE--Buddy Rose (Philadelphia/Mastbaum Tech) scored a team-high 21 points, but it wasn't enough as the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team lost to Millersville, 76-67, Thursday night. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but was postponed due to bad weather.
Bloomsburg was trailing by seven, 22-15, with 6:16 to play in the first half, when the Marauders went on a 16-6 run to end the half.
Millersville pushed the lead to 21 points, 58-37, with 9:04 to go in the game, on two free throws by Charlie Parker. The Huskies then put together a 19-6 run to pull within seven points, 63-56, with 3:39 to play. Leading the rally was Rose who scored 10 points, including a three-pointer, while Jon DeJesus (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg North) added four points.
After Millersville pushed the lead back to 10 points, 68-58, on two free throws from Parker, the Huskies' DeJesus hit a three-pointer to make it a seven point game. But, Millersville hit 4-4 from the foul line to once again lead by 11.
Bloomsburg got back to within seven points on a layup from Jason Green (Washington, DC/DeMatha) with 23 seconds to play. However, Parker hit two more free throws to seal the game and win for Millersville.
Along with 21 points from Rose Bloomsburg got 10 points from Nick Jones (Rosedale, NY/Hillcrest), while DeJesus added nine points. Millersville, 17-6, 6-2 PSAC East, got 23 points from Parker and 22 from Cory Bray.
The Huskies, now 8-14, 0-8 PSAC East, will play at Kutztown on Saturday at 3 p.m.
