Hoover Named PSAC East Freshman of the Week For Second Time


BLOOMSBURG--For the second time this season Bloomsburg University men's basketball player Dan Hoover (Lansdale/North Penn) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Freshman of the Week for the period ending Jan. 4. Hoover was previously named the Freshman of the Week on Nov. 24. It is also the fifth time season a member of the Huskies has won the award.

In two games last week Hoover averaged 12.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Huskies. He scored 16 points and had 13 rebounds against Lock Haven in a 71-63 win. Then scored nine points and had six rebounds against Edinboro. For the week he shot 38.1 percent from the floor and had three assists.

For the season, Hoover is averaging 10.6 points and 7.7 rebounds a game. The Huskies host Gannon on Saturday at 3 p.m.
