BLOOMSBURG-- Bryson Mills (Williamsport/Ben Franklin) scored a career-high 18 points in the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team's 105-74 season-ending loss to Kutztown on Saturday at the Nelson Field House.
Before the game the Huskies honored the senior members of its team, Mills, Marko Vucajnk (Zalec, Slovenia) and Drew Jerry (Philadelphia/Olney).
The game was tight in the early going with the Golden Bears holding just a five point lead, 25-20, after a layup from Jesse Betar (Altoona/Altoona) with 7:15 to play in the half. Kutztown, though, closed out the final seven minutes on a 26-12 run to grab a 19-point lead at the break.
In the second half the Golden Bears pulled away although Mills finished strong for the Huskies scoring 16 of his points in the second half, including hitting three, three-pointers. Jerry, playing in his final game, added 16 points with Betar adding 13. Kutztown got 25 points each from Stephen Dennis and Andrew Woodlin in the win.
