Mills Nets 14 in Loss to Mansfield

MANSFIELD--The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team lost to Mansfield on Wednesday by a score of 88-58.

The Huskies fell behind 7-0 in the early going, but came back and cut the margin to five, 12-7, on a layup by Jesse Betar (Altoona/Altoona) with 14:56 to go in the half. Mansfield, though, went on 16-6 run over the next eight minutes and opened up a 28-13 lead with 7:21 to go. The Mountaineers led by 19 at halftime and extended their lead to as many as 33 points in the second half.

Bryson Mills (Williamsport/Ben Franklin) led the Huskies with 14 points, while Betar added 13 and Drew Jerry (Philadelphia/Olney) 10 points. Ryan Callaghan topped the Mountaineers with 20 points, while Tony Fannick and Chris Pender each scored 16. Bloomsburg, 4-16, 1-7 in the PSAC East, will play at Cheyney on Saturday at 3 p.m.
