Bloomsburg University Men's Basketball Beats Mercy 86-69

BLOOMSBURG- Dan Hoover (Lansdale/North Penn) lead the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team, with 23 points and 15 rebounds, to an 86-69 win over Mercy on Saturday night. Four Bloomsburg players scored in double figures.
The Huskies took the lead early scoring the first bucket of the game on a Larry Webster (Elkton, MD/Elkton) dunk and went on an 11-3 run in the next six minutes of play. Ronnie Benson (Harleysville/Souderton Area) closed out the first half with a three-pointer at the buzzer to make it 39-25.
Mercy fought back in the second half cutting the Huskies lead to as little as nine points, but it wasn't enough. Bloomsburg quickly climbed back up to a 19 point lead with a 16-6 run, ending the game 86-69.
Along with Hoover, Benson also had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Ruben Britt (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) had 14 and Trevon Johnson (Snow Hill, MD/Snow Hill) chipped in with 11 points.
The Huskies, 2-2, will play Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday, November 29th at 7:30 p.m.
