Bloomsburg Men's Basketball Falls to Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team lost to Shippensburg by a score of 64-55 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division game.

The Huskies trailed 31-21 at the break and saw the Red Raider make it a 12-point lead by scoring the first basket of the second half. Bloomsburg, though, used a 15-4 run to get within a point, 37-36, with 14 minutes to play. Ruben Britt (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) hit a couple of three pointers and Bryson Mills (Williamsport/Benn Franklin) capped the rally with a dunk.

Later, Britt put the Huskies on top for the first time since the opening half when he hit two free throws, while a Ronnie Benson (Harleysville/Souderton) tip-in with 6:23 to go gave Bloomsburg a three-point lead at 50-47. In the final four minutes, though, Shippensburg's Justin Minter hit three, three-pointers to help the Red Raiders close the game with a 17-5 run and send them to the win.

Britt finished with 20 points for the Huskies, while Jesse Betar (Altoona/Altoona) added 11. Shippensburg got 19 points and 19 rebounds from Derrick Graff, while Minter finished with 16 points.

The Huskies play at Millersville on Saturday at 3 p.m.
